Bishkek authorities hold raids to enforce daytime ban on heavy trucks' movement

AKIPRESS.COM - The Municipal Inspection together with patrol police officers is conducting raids on April 5-8 to enforce ban on movement of heavy duty machines in Bishkek during the daytime. 

During 7 such raids held recently, the authorities conducted explanatory talks with 216 drivers. 

4 construction companies - Kyrgyz Beton, Asia Beton, SanTehRus, and Arek Stroi - were fined for violations.   

Additionally, private individuals were fined totaling 74,000 soms. 

Bishkek city introduced ban on movement of trucks weighing more than 18 tons from 7 am to 9 pm starting from April 5 to October 1, 2024.

The ban does not apply to trucks carrying perishable goods and humanitarian aid, trucks employed by the mayor's office for reconstruction and repair of roads, as well as those used for municipal purposes.
