AKIPRESS.COM - Under the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF), the governments of Mongolia, the United States, and Vietnam are jointly organizing a training program on strengthening the legal system for countering chemical, biological, nuclear, and radiological threats in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, on April 16-18, Montsame reports.
The UN Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT), the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), and the European Union (EU) are participating in the event. Representatives from 16 ARF member countries are also attending. This training program is organized annually and rotates among the ASEAN Regional Forum member states. Mongolia was scheduled to host the program in 2019, but it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The ASEAN Regional Forum plays a vital role in fostering trust, dialogue, and collaboration among participants on various security issues, particularly those related to chemical, biological, nuclear, and radiological threats.
