8,200 heads of livestock died in Kazakhstan due to floods

AKIPRESS.COM - Some 8,200 heads of livestock died as a result of floods in Kazakhstan, 70% of them are ruminants, Agriculture Ministry's representative Olzhas Tlebaldin said.

97% of dead animals were disposed, he said.

Compensations for loss of 780 heads of livestock for $260,000 were paid in Kostanai region, $213,000 for 753 heads were paid in Aktobe region. Some $431,000 were allocated for compensations in West Kazakhstan region. The applications for compensations are accepted also in Atyrau and Akmola regions.

Compensations for loss of animals are paid from public budget and other sources, the official said.
