Deputy Speaker of Hungarian Parliament visits Mongolia

AKIPRESS.COM - Chairman of the Parliament of Mongolia Zandanshatar Gombojav received Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Hungary Sándor Lezsák and Vice Chairman of Hungarian-Mongolian friendship group Arpad Potapi, as well as other officials.

Chairman Zandanshatar Gombojav expressed gratitude to the guests for their participation in the international conference Trans-Altai Sustainability Dialogue.

Hungary is an important partner of Mongolia in Eastern Europe that maintains active relations and cooperation with the country. Speaker Zandanshatar highlighted the frequent high-level mutual visits between the two countries and expressed satisfaction with the deepening relations.

The Chairman noted that many important issues were discussed during his official visit to Hungary last March, mutual understanding was reached and documents on cooperation were signed. This visit was the first visit at the level of the Speaker of the Parliament of Mongolia in 17 years, aimed at expanding bilateral relations and cooperation in all spheres.

Sándor Lezsák expressed gratitude to Zandanshatar Gombojav for the invitation to take part in the second conference and noted that this was his first visit to Mongolia.

The parties said that global geopolitical challenges have highlighted the importance of strengthening peace and intensifying international and regional cooperation to overcome any difficulties through joint efforts. Both sides agreed on the importance of relations between the two parliaments and parliamentary groups in deepening cooperation.

They exchanged views on the elections of the Parliament of Mongolia in June 2024 and the elections of the European Union.
