
AKIPRESS.COM - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin met with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Péter Szijjártó on April 30, the Foreign Ministry of Tajikistan reported.
The parties discussed actual issues of bilateral, regional and multilateral cooperation during the meeting.
The sides noted the important role of existing instruments of bilateral relations, including the Joint Tajik-Hungarian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation and Political Consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs in expanding and strengthening multilateral cooperation between two countries.
Special attention was paid to regional security issues and the fight against modern threats. Cooperation between the two countries within the European Union was also discussed.
The Ministers signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Interior of Hungary on cooperation in security and crime counteraction, which is aimed at strengthening joint efforts to combat terrorism, extremism and other types of crimes.
