AKIPRESS.COM - Chairperson of the Parliament's Senate of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva met with Second Deputy Speaker of the Parliament's Senate of Egypt Phoebe Fawzy Girgis, who arrived in Uzbekistan to attend the Asian Women's Forum in Samarkand, UzA reports.

The sides discussed issues of enhancing cooperation between Uzbekistan and Egypt, including in the trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian spheres, as well as further strengthening inter-parliamentary ties.

The parties noted the need to share experiences on issues raised at the forum, particularly women's economic empowerment and participation in innovation activities.

The importance of supporting women, especially in rural areas, was emphasized.

An agreement was also reached on using parliaments' capabilities to implement joint healthcare, science, and education projects.
