AKIPRESS.COM - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Joomart Tokayev signed a law ratifying the treaty on allied relations with Uzbekistan, the presidential press service reported.
The treaty was signed by the heads of the two states in Tashkent on December 22, 2022.
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that the treaty "meets the interests of both fraternal peoples and marks a new stage in the history of Uzbek-Kazakh relations".
'This breakthrough document opens up new horizons for us and fully reflects the mutual desire of the two countries for further rapprochement," Kassym-Joomart Tokayev stated.
The President of Uzbekistan ratified the treaty on November 30, 2023.
The document is aimed at expanding cooperation in the political, trade and economic, transit and transport, energy, cultural and humanitarian spheres, civil defense and energy, and provides for strengthening interaction in the international arena.
