
AKIPRESS.COM - Secretary-General of the Parliament of Mongolia Enkhbat Damdin and Secretary-General of the Office of the National Assembly of Hungary György Such signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on May 29, Montsame reports.
Chairman of the Parliament of Mongolia G.Zandanshatar initiated the talks to sign this memorandum during his visit to Hungary last March. Under the the Memorandum, the parties agreed to cooperate in increasing the transparency and accountability of parliament, studying the structure, organization, and functions of standing committees, comparing the legal frameworks regulating the operations of the two parliaments, and learning from best practices in electronic parliament systems, libraries, and research institutions.
At the signing ceremony, D. Enkhbat emphasized the importance of close cooperation between the offices and parliamentary friendship groups in strengthening the interparliamentary relations. He also expressed gratitude for the mutual agreement to intensify multifaceted cooperation between the offices and establish this MoU, which would serve as a basis for implementing experience exchange programs for the staff of the offices and conducting joint research in the legislative field.
Secretary-General of the Office of the National Assembly of Hungary György Such highlighted the significance of the Memorandum and expressed confidence that the scope of cooperation between the offices of the two parliaments would continue to expand. He assured that efforts would be made to fully implement the Memorandum and to organize effective programs annually on relevant issues.
