
AKIPRESS.COM - There is a section of the Osh-Batken-Razzakov highway in Kadamjai district near the village of Alga, where road accidents occur frequently.
It's a 140-155 km section. Local residents describe the road as smooth and well-leveled. On both sides of the road are old cemeteries. In order to somehow mark this section for drivers, the local residents placed an iron pole with a real yak tail hung on it.
This way, as locals believe that the drivers are warned about old cemetery so that they lowered the speed, followed traffic rules, and were more vigilant.
Fatal road accidents were earlier registered near old cemeteries. There is a belief among local residents concerning the Koon-Baba area that the place has "invisible lords," and that's why accidents happen there.
The Osh-Batken-Razzakov highway is a road of international importance. It has three sections where road accidents occur more frequently: 140-150 km section near Alga village, 290-300 km section, and 210-215 km section in Tort-Kul.
