Selling counterfeit money becomes more frequent in Kazakhstan

AKIPRESS.COM - Kazakhstan has registered 13 cases of counterfeiting since the beginning of the year, Kazinform reports, citing Financial Monitoring Agency.

45 criminal cases were opened against fake money distributors in 2023, and 44 criminal cases in 2022.

1,763 counterfeit banknotes were withdrawn from circulation in Kazakhstan in 2023 and the beginning of 2024. 384 banknotes were worth 1,378,200 tenge, 1,342 banknotes US$120,050, 35 banknotes 17,500 euros, and 2 banknotes 10,000 Russian rubles.

The seized counterfeit money are worth more than 55 million tenge.
