AKIPRESS.COM - President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on June 26 received a delegation from Türkiye led by Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler, who arrived in Uzbekistan on a working visit, UzA reports.

The parties discussed issues of further deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Türkiye and implementing the agreements reached during the high-level visit to Ankara on June 5-6.

They also considered prospects for developing military and military-technical cooperation, including close interdepartmental interaction, organizing joint events, training military specialists, and others.

Particular attention was paid to strengthening and coordinating security cooperation and countering terrorism, extremism, and radicalism.

The sides exchanged views on ensuring peace and stability in the region, including the situation in Afghanistan.
