AKIPRESS.COM - Secretary General of the United Nations António Guterres received Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations Enkhbold Vorshilov in connection with his return to the home country, Montsame reported.

Permanent Representative Enkbold Vorshilov expressed his gratitude to the Secretary General and United Nations Secretariat for support during his service for four years.

Enkhbold emphasized the official visit of the UN Secretary General António Guterres to Mongolia in 2022 was a remarkable event in the relations between Mongolia and the United Nations. He especially noted the statement of Secretary General António Guterres that Mongolia is a symbol of peace in the world of conflict.

The Permanent Representative told the Secretary General about the preparation for the World Women's Forum to be held in Ulaanbaatar in August 2024 and the 17th Session of the Parties of the Conference of the Parties (COP17) of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) to take place in Mongolia in 2026.
