AKIPRESS.COM - Tatarstan plans to attract citizens of Uzbekistan to work on construction projects, Kun.uz reported.
A delegation from Tatarstan, led by Ministers of Labor and Social Protection Elmira Zaripova and Education Ilsur Khadiullin, visited Tashkent, Navoi, Samarkand, and Bukhara on July 3-6.
The main goal of the visit was to attract graduates from secondary specialized educational institutions in Uzbekistan to work in Tatarstan.
Gimaev noted that migrants would help fill the staffing gaps. Tatarstan companies have retraining centers, which will allow them to train personnel in Uzbekistan and then provide further training on-site.
"The employer will bear full responsibility for the protégés whom they attract. We will continue to work in this direction to ensure that no migrant wanders aimlessly around the city," he said.
Additionally, the Russian University of Peoples' Friendship in Uzbekistan began administering Russian language exams for potential migrants on July 1. Those who obtain the certificate will be able to get a work permit faster.
Head of the Department of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of Uzbekistan Farrukh Azimov confirmed the readiness to provide Tatarstan with qualified personnel for the transportation and construction industries.
"Uzbekistan is ready for cooperation if employers from Tatarstan invest in the educational process, create appropriate conditions in educational institutions, and improve technologies for training personnel that meet the region's requirements," Azimov noted.
The official emphasized the necessity of creating partnership conditions that allow Uzbek students to intern in Tatarstan and Tatarstan teachers to work in educational institutions in Uzbekistan.
