Summer school for young Mongolists kicks off

AKIPRESS.COM - The Young Mongolists' Summer School - 2024 International Program commenced on August 5. An opening ceremony took place at the Graduate University of Mongolia. The program will be held from August 5 to August 18, Montsame reports.

Co-hosted annually by the Ministry of Education of Mongolia, the Ministry of Economy and Development of Mongolia, and the National Council for Mongol Studies, this program aims to introduce young Mongolists to the Mongolian lifestyle and customs and strengthening the continuity of Mongol studies.

This year, over 40 young Mongolists from seven countries applied to participate in the two-week summer school. 25 researchers from 13 universities and academic institutions of six countries, such as Russia, China, and the Republic of Korea, have been allowed to participate in the summer school.

Over the first seven days, the young Mongolists will attend lectures given by scholars from leading training and research institutions for Mongol studies, such as the Mongolian Academy of Sciences and the National University of Mongolia, and also visit historical sites in Ulaanbaatar. In the remaining seven days, they will get acquainted with the nomadic way of life and culture of the Mongols.
