AKIPRESS.COM - The photo exhibition Tokyo Before/After of the Japan Foundation was opened in the National Fine Arts Museum on September 17.
The opening ceremony was attended by Ambassador of Japan Hideki Goda, Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, Sport and Youth Policy Gulbara Abdykalykova, Deputy Director of National Fine Arts Museum Almakan Naizabekova, Cabinet members, MPs, representatives of diplomatic corps, educational and cultural institutions.
The exhibition will run until October 10 in the Glass Hall of the Museum.
The exhibition features a selection of approximately 80 works, in which works by photographers who had captured images of Tokyo in the 1930s-1940s are presented in juxtaposition with those taken after 2010.
The Ambassador of Japan expressed hope that through comparison of photos of two ages the visitors will develop understanding of the past, present and the future of multifaceted Tokyo.
