AKIPRESS.COM - President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud on the sidelines of the Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit, UzA reported.
The parties discussed current issues of further enhancing bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia.
The President of Uzbekistan emphasized the timeliness and relevance of organizing the extraordinary summit in Riyadh.
The ongoing intensive contacts and exchanges at various levels were noted with deep satisfaction. The volume of mutual trade and investment and the number of joint ventures are growing.
Promoting new joint projects, particularly in green energy, modernizing transport infrastructure, communications, the agricultural sector, and industry, was considered.
Particular attention was paid to preparing for upcoming high-level events, including the Second Summit of the Central Asia – Gulf Cooperation Council Dialogue in Samarkand in 2025.
At the meeting, the President of Uzbekistan expressed gratitude to the leadership of Saudi Arabia for the conditions created for Uzbekistan citizens to perform Hajj and Umrah.
Views were also exchanged on regional issues, including a peaceful settlement of the situation in the Middle East.
After completing his working visit to Riyadh, the President of Uzbekistan departed for Baku.
