AKIPRESS.COM - The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan and Masdar signed an agreement on the construction of a 1,000 MW wind power plant in Navoi region's Uchkuduk district as part of the COP29 in Baku, UzA reported.
The project will produce 3.5 billion kWh of electricity per year, saving 1 billion cubic meters of natural gas reserves.
Construction of this wind power station will reduce emissions into the atmosphere by 1.4 million tons per year.
This wind power station is a new stage of cooperation that will allow Uzbekistan to ensure energy security, economic growth, and the creation of new jobs.
With the UAE's initiative to "Triple the potential of renewable energy sources", Uzbekistan is joining efforts to combat climate change globally.
