AKIPRESS.COM - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman held the first political consultation on December 9, Montsame reported.

The consultation was co-chaired by Director of the Department of the Americas, the Middle East and Oceania of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia A. Anand and Head of the Asia and Pacific Department of the Foreign Ministry of Oman Abdulaziz Mohammed Al Hosni.

The sides underlined that the first consultative meeting has been conducted following up the official visit of Foreign Minister of Oman to Mongolia Badr Albusaidi, discussed ways to further enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries in various fields such as politics, defense, trade, economy, investment, mining, energy, tourism, agriculture and education. To facilitate business ties and tourism opportunities, the parties agreed to appoint Honorary Consuls in the near future.

The Mongolian delegation has also been received by Undersecretary for Political Affairs of the Foreign Ministry of Oman Khalifa bin Ali bin Issa Alharthy. At the meeting, the parties exchanged views on expanding Mongolia-Oman relations as well as international and regional issues of mutual interests.
