Representatives of Uzbekistan and French Parliament hold meeting

AKIPRESS.COM - The delegation from Uzbekistan held a meeting with Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly of France Bruno Fuchs in Paris.

Uzbekistan was represented by experts from the Center for Economic Research and Reform (CERR), the International Institute for Central Asia (IICA), the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies (ISRS), and the Center for Foreign Policy Studies.

The parties discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation, Uzbekistan's good-neighborly policy in Central Asia, and the summit in the "Central Asia + European Union" format scheduled for 2025 at the highest level.

IICA Director Javlon Vakhabov noted that Central Asia is the main priority area of Uzbekistan's foreign policy linked to national interests.

In turn, the French parliamentarian stressed that such a policy creates favorable conditions for developing interparliamentary relations between the countries of the two regions, contributing to strengthening political dialogue and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.

Following the meeting, the French side expressed its readiness to facilitate the involvement of parliamentarians from EU countries in Uzbekistan to discuss new ways of cooperation, including as part of the "CA + EU" format.
