
AKIPRESS.COM - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy Edmondo Cirielli held a meeting on January 14, the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reported. The Deputy Minister arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit.
During the meeting, the diplomats noted the importance of bilateral political dialogue. The prospects for developing relations between Turkmenistan and Italy in the trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian spheres were discussed.
It was noted that contacts at high and the highest levels play an important role in promoting bilateral relations.
The sides also discussed prospects for cooperation within the framework of international organizations and in the Central Asia – Italy format. The positive experience of interaction on the UN platform was emphasized. The importance of mutual support for international initiatives aimed at strengthening peace and sustainable development was emphasized.
The parties expressed confidence in the continuation of a fruitful partnership in all areas of mutual interest.

The Turkmen side was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Gurbanov, and the Italian side by Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Edmondo Cirielli.
