
AKIPRESS.COM - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov held a meeting with new Ambassador of Spain (with residence in Moscow) Ricardo Martinez Vazquez, who presented copies of his credentials, on March 4 as part of a working visit of a representative delegation of Spanish business circles to Turkmenistan, the Foreign Ministry reported.
A. Gurbanov congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and expressed the readiness of the Turkmen side to provide assistance and support in the implementation of his diplomatic activities.
The diplomats discussed the current agenda of bilateral cooperation, and exchanged views on the prospects for further interaction between Turkmenistan and Spain both in a bilateral format and within the framework of international organizations.
The parties noted the importance of intensifying partnership in a number of priority areas, such as agriculture and water management, transport and logistics, as well as cultural and humanitarian cooperation in the framework of educational programs and the study of the Spanish language.
The Ambassador assured that he would make every effort to develop bilateral relations.
As part of the visit, the Spanish delegation is scheduled to meet with the leadership of about 10 ministries and departments of Turkmenistan. The delegation included representatives of 18 Spanish companies, such as Ibertest, Nobargi, Talgo, Sercobe, INDRA, AGRAGEX, Teltronic and others.
