Turkmenistan, Iran discuss cooperation on Caspian Sea issues

AKIPRESS.COM - The Turkmen-Iranian bilateral consultations were held at the Caspian Sea Institute of Turkmenistan in Ashgabat to determine the maritime boundary line, the line of demarcation of fishing zones, as well as the delimitation of the Caspian Sea bed and related documents on April 7-8, the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reported.

The Turkmen side was headed by Director of the Caspian Sea Institute of Turkmenistan Myrat Atajanov and the Iranian side was headed by Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran for Caspian Sea Affairs Alireza Jahangiri.

During the talks, the sides discussed bilateral and five-party cooperation, including consideration of a number of other issues related to the Caspian Sea environment.
