
AKIPRESS.COM - On the night of May 18, strong winds in Bishkek caused widespread damage to city infrastructure, the mayor’s office reported.
According to city services:
- 23 trees were uprooted and another 49 were damaged.
- Falling branches and debris damaged parked cars breaking windows and causing dents.
- Roofs of both residential buildings and commercial properties sustained damage.
- On Ala-Too Square, the state flag was torn, but it was replaced within 30 minutes.
Emergency crews are actively working on-site to clear fallen trees, repair damage and assess the impact of the storm.
