Mongolia, Australia consider cooperation in light industry

AKIPRESS.COM - Economic Policy Advisor to the President of Mongolia Davaadalai Batsuuri met with Deputy Head of the Australian Embassy in Mongolia Andrew Berryman on May 28 within the framework of the "White Gold" national movement, Montsame reported.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed the possibilities of effective cooperation in the light industry and exchanged views on opportunities to cooperate with major global wool brands, including UGG.

Moreover, the parties agreed to cooperate and share their experiences in the "Golden Shears – 2025" International Shearing and Woolhandling Championships to be held in Mongolia for the first time under the auspices of the President of Mongolia on June 20-21.

The Championships aims at increasing the price of livestock raw materials, using them without waste, facilitating the work of herders, introducing new technologies and innovations, and encouraging young people who have mastered shearing.
