Mongolian People's Party nominates Zandanshatar Gombojav for Prime Minister

AKIPRESS.COM - The 7th Session of the Conference of the Mongolian People's Party (MPP) was held on June 9, during which the Party decided to nominate Zandanshatar Gombojav for the position of Prime Minister of Mongolia, Montsame reported.

Announcing the decision, Secretary-General of the MPP Sodbaatar Yangug noted that the MPP Board unanimously agreed to nominate Zandanshatar Gombojav for the post of Prime Minister, and subsequently submitted his candidacy to the Party's Conference.

"Although three other individuals initially put their names forward during the Session, two later withdrew. As a result, a vote was held between Zandanshatar Gombojav and Temuulen Ganzorig, with 67.4% of members voting in favor of nominating Zandanshatar," he said.

Zandanshatar's nomination will now be submitted to the Parliament of Mongolia, Secretary-General added.

"Given that the MPP holds a parliamentary majority with 68 seats, the Party is confident that G. Zandanshatar will be appointed as the next Prime Minister. The Conference is the Party's highest representative body, and we are confident that the MPP Faction in Parliament will fully support its decision," he said.
