
AKIPRESS.COM - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan and the Ministry for International Relations of Venezuela held political consultations in Dushanbe on June 17, the Foreign Ministry of Tajikistan reported.
The delegation of Tajikistan was headed by First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ismatullo Nasredin, and the delegation of Venezuela was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Asia, Middle East and Oceania Tatiana Pugh Moreno.
During the consultations, which were held for the first time, the sides discussed issues of establishing and developing bilateral and multilateral relations between Tajikistan and Venezuela, partnership within international organizations, in particular the UN, as well as other topics of mutual interest.
They expressed readiness to further expand cooperation, strengthen direct contacts, and enhance the legal framework of relations.
As part of the consultations, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed on the establishment of a mechanism for political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan and the Ministry for International Relations of Venezuela.
