AKIPRESS.COM - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Regional Coordinator of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) for Central Asia Serhan Aktoprak held a meeting on June 26, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation between Turkmenistan and IOM.

In connection with the current situation in the Middle East, Turkmenistan has assisted in the political and diplomatic settlement of the conflict and resolution of humanitarian issues, as the sides noted. They agreed to strengthen coordination of work in emergencies.

The progress of activities carried out in accordance with the Action Plan for the current year, in particular the implementation of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration (GCM), was also reviewed.
