AKIPRESS.COM - Heavy precipitation is observed in Tyup district of Issyk-Kul region on July 8.

A mudflow came down in Balbay rural municipality, the irrigation ditches and canals overflowed. The flow of the water is being changed in Frunze, Balbay and Kurmontu villages.

About 20 rural municipality employees, three units of heavy equipment and one private excavator are involved in diverting the water.

"Mudflows began to flood three of our villages after 12 pm. Together with the rural municipality employees and local residents, we are changing the direction of the water flow to prevent flooding of farmland and residential buildings," the head of the rural municipality said.
