AKIPRESS.COM - A massive fire has completely destroyed the main stage at Tomorrowland festival in Boom city of Belgium before its opening on July 18. Up to 100,000 guests are expected at the event, which, according to reports, will still take place, Euronews reported.

Videos posted to social media showed flames engulfing the elaborate set, emergency cars are parked nearby. During the fire, several employees are believed to be on-set for set up ahead of planned opening.

The mayor of Boom cancelled his vacation in Germany, an investigation is underway. The exact cause of the fire has not yet been named, but it is possible that it was caused by pyrotechnics that were being installed on the main stage.

The first edition of Tomorrowland took place in 2005. This is one of the most famous electronic music festivals in the world.
