18th EU sanctions package against Russia takes effect

The 18th EU sanctions package against Russia has come into effect. The restrictions affected 18 individuals and 41 legal entities.

Among the individuals sanctioned are:

  • Karen Shakhnazarov, CEO of Mosfilm;

  • Olga Burova, Deputy Minister of Culture of Crimea;

  • Vladimir Kuryanov, Acting Rector of the Crimean Federal University;

  • Tatyana Litvinenko, shareholder of PhosAgro;

  • Ilshat Shagiakhmetov, former head of the Territorial Development Fund.

The list also includes citizens of China, India, and Iran. All of them are banned from entering the EU, and their assets in Europe are frozen.

Among the sanctioned legal entities are NPP Rubin, Aeroscan LLC, Polymer JSC and the Moscow Mechanical Plant of Special Equipment. The list also includes Chinese and Indian companies.
