
AKIPRESS.COM - Mongolia traded with a total of 152 countries in seven months, resulting in a foreign trade turnover of $14.2 billion.
Exports accounted for $7.8 billion, and imports accounted for $6.5 billion, resulting in a trade surplus of $1.3 billion. Compared to last year, total trade turnover decreased by $1.4 billion, exports by $1.5 billion. The trade surplus decreased by $1.6 billion, while imports increased by $68.9 million.
$1.5 billion decline in exports was primarily driven by drops in coal exports of $2.4 billion, washed cashmere of $200.2 million, crude oil of $35.5 million, mutton and goat meat of $25.9 million, and iron ore and concentrates of $15.5 million. Exports of copper ore and concentrates rose by $1.1 billion, combed animal hair and fibers by $42.6 million, and zinc ore and concentrates by $31.4 million.
