
AKIPRESS.COM - A meeting was held between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan S. Muhammetdurdyyev and newly appointed Ambassador of Bahrain to Turkmenistan (with residence in Ankara) Bassam Ahmed Ali Marzouk on September 15. The Ambassador of Bahrain presented copies of his credentials, the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reported.
Congratulating the Ambassador on his appointment, the Turkmen side expressed readiness to provide the diplomat with all possible assistance and support for his activities in strengthening bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state of bilateral cooperation in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian areas.
The sides touched upon issues of interaction within the framework of international structures, primarily the UN. The importance of establishing inter-parliamentary ties, as well as intensifying cooperation between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries was emphasized.
The Ambassador assured that he would make every effort to further develop the Turkmen-Bahraini partnership.
