AKIPRESS.COM - Director of the Center for Public Diplomacy of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Uzbekistan Kabuljon Sabirov, Chairman of the Uzbekistan Culture, Solidarity and Cooperation Society Çokay Koçar and Head of the Department of Foreign Relations of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Barbaros Büyüksağnak held a meeting in Istanbul, UzA reported.

The parties discussed issues related to the development of cultural cooperation between Uzbekistan and Türkiye, the effective use of the potential of twin cities, the expansion of cultural exchange programs, and the strengthening of friendly relations between the two peoples.

Sabirov spoke in detail about the activities of the SCO Center for Public Diplomacy, as well as about international cultural and educational projects being implemented under its auspices.

Barbaros Büyüksağnak praised the Center's activities and expressed his readiness to implement joint initiatives aimed at strengthening cultural ties between the two countries.

Following the meeting, the participants discussed initiatives to develop partnership not only in the cultural, but also in the scientific sphere – in particular, the publication of a book of Turkic proverbs, the release of collections of scientific research by young scholars, and the enhancement of cooperation between analytical and research centers.
