
AKIPRESS.COM - On November 17, a high-level event titled "From Talk to Action: Making COP30 a Turning Point for Synergistic Climate-Nature Action" took place at the German Pavilion in Belém, Brazil, as part of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP30).
Minister of Environment and Climate Change of Mongolia Batbaatar Bat participated in the meeting, presenting the policy plans and guidelines for addressing Mongolia's complex environmental challenges, including climate change, biodiversity, and land degradation.
Minister Batbaatar announced that during the 17th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), which will be held in Ulaanbaatar in 2026, Mongolia will propose three infrastructure initiatives, including pasture leadership initiative, integrated water and land resource management, and nature infrastructure development solutions.
Minister Batbaatar emphasized that these initiatives aim to strengthen the link between land, climate, and biodiversity and to scale up comprehensive solutions for landscape restoration worldwide.
