AKIPRESS.COM - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with EU Special Representative for Central Asia Eduards Stiprais, who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in events as part of the United Nations Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA) Week, on January 21, the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reported.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state and prospects for developing cooperation between Turkmenistan and the European Union in areas of mutual interest.

They expressed interest in expanding the political-diplomatic dialogue and the legal framework of cooperation. The parties discussed the possibilities of organizing high-level meetings and visits during the current year.

The diplomats also considered cooperation between Turkmenistan and the EU in the field of transport.

The sides exchanged views on the development of partnership in the area of professional education.
