AKIPRESS.COM - The Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Kubanychbek Omuraliev, met with the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Director for Europe, Hans Henri P. Kluge, to formalize a roadmap for bilateral cooperation.
The two officials signed a detailed action plan for 2026–2027 aimed at implementing the existing Memorandum of Understanding between the OTS and the WHO Regional Office for Europe. This new agreement focuses on strengthening emergency preparedness and response, advancing the digitalization of healthcare systems, and building institutional and human resource capacity across member states.
The newly signed document also emphasizes the development of environmentally sustainable medical facilities and the promotion of public health initiatives. Key priorities include intensifying the fight against non-communicable diseases, supporting healthy aging policies, and addressing the growing impact of climate change on population health. By establishing a clear framework for medium-term collaboration, the plan ensures a consistent and strategic partnership to enhance the healthcare systems and sanitary-epidemiological security of the Turkic states.
