Delegation from Mongolian Parliament visits Czech Republic

AKIPRESS.COM - A delegation led by Deputy Speaker of the Mongolian Parliament Bat-Erdene Jadamba paid an official visit to the Czech Republic at the invitation of Vice President of the Senate of the Czech Parliament Jitka Seitlová from March 1-4, Montsame reported.

The visit was made as a follow-up to Vice President of the Czech Senate Jitka Seitlová's official visit to Mongolia in October 2025, which took place within the framework of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Czech Republic. The visit served to strengthen and further develop cooperation and relations between the two countries' supreme legislative bodies.

During the visit, the delegation led by Deputy Speaker Bat-Erdene held official meetings with Vice President of the Senate Jitka Seitlova, Vice Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Patrik Nacher, and Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Regional Development, Public Administration, and the Environment Zbynek Linhart. They also paid a courtesy call on President of the Senate Milos Vystrcil.

At the official meetings, Deputy Speaker Bat-Erdene expressed satisfaction that Mongolia and the Czech Republic have maintained the frequency of political and high-level reciprocal visits while actively developing cooperation and relations between their legislative institutions. He noted that Mongolia aims to enrich the Comprehensive Partnership with the Czech Republic - an important partner in Europe and Mongolia's "third neighbor" - with stronger economic content, and to expand and strengthen cooperation in trade and investment, road transport, infrastructure, construction, environmental protection, agriculture and livestock husbandry, industry, health, labor and social protection, education, culture, and other key sectors.

He also noted that Mongolia will host the 17th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (COP17) in August this year and the International Meeting of Women Parliamentarians in October in Ulaanbaatar, and invited Czech representatives to participate actively in these events.

The Czech side highly appreciated Mongolia's efforts and active engagement in environmental protection and combating desertification and expressed readiness to participate in the above-mentioned international meetings at a high level. They also commended Mongolia's progress in increasing women's participation in parliament and in effectively supporting women's leadership in decision-making, noting that Mongolia has become one of the leading countries in Asia in terms of the number of women members of the Pparliament.

In addition, Deputy Speaker Bat-Erdene received representatives from the office of Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament Tomio Okamura, Member of the Chamber of Deputies and Head of the Czech–Mongolia Parliamentary Group Petr Sadovsky, Honorary Consul of Mongolia to the Czech Republic Pavel Reichrt and business representatives led by Vice President of the Czech Chamber of Commerce Radek Jakubsky.

Deputy Speaker Bat-Erdene emphasized the importance of further advancing Mongolia–Czech cooperation based on the rich tradition of bilateral relations and the close ties between the two peoples, particularly by promoting the development of small and medium-sized enterprises through the use of Czech technology and know-how, with mutual support at the parliamentary level. He also expressed gratitude to the Czech authorities for paying attention to the well-being of Mongolian citizens living in the Czech Republic and for supporting their safety and opportunities to live with their families and pursue education.
