Turkmenistan and Pakistan reaffirm strategic ties

AKIPRESS.COM - President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation on March 21 to exchange congratulations on the occasion of the Nowruz holiday.

During the call, initiated by the Pakistani side, both leaders emphasized the deep cultural heritage shared by their nations and expressed mutual wishes for prosperity and health. Prime Minister Sharif conveyed warm regards from President Asif Ali Zardari and highlighted Pakistan’s high regard for Turkmenistan’s regional initiatives and its commitment to developing a partnership based on friendship and equality.

The discussion centered on the consistent development of political, economic, and energy cooperation, with both sides identifying the strengthening of bilateral ties as a foreign policy priority. Prime Minister Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan's readiness to expand trade and economic relations and extended a formal invitation to President Berdimuhamedov to visit Pakistan.

The Turkmen leader expressed his gratitude for the invitation and confirmed his administration's full support for all efforts aimed at enriching the strategic partnership between the two states.
