5th Meeting of Heads of Space Agencies of OTS countries held in Tashkent

AKIPRESS.COM - High-level representatives from the member states and observers of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) gathered in Tashkent on March 30 for the 5th Meeting of the Heads of Space Agencies.

The meeting focused on deepening strategic partnerships and accelerating joint technological initiatives across the Turkic world.

A central highlight of the proceedings was the progress report on the "12U OTS-SAT Cube Satellite Project." Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the OTS, characterized space cooperation as a vital pillar of regional integration. He noted that the satellite project serves as a flagship example of the collective technical expertise and shared vision of the participating nations. Agency heads reviewed the final stages of the satellite's manufacturing and held detailed discussions regarding its upcoming launch and operational framework.

To formalize these growing ties, participants worked toward finalizing the "Space Industrial Agreement for Capacity Development." This structured framework is designed to streamline collaboration in space infrastructure, industrial manufacturing, and the adoption of emerging technologies. Beyond hardware, the meeting emphasized human capital, highlighting the success of the Turkic Space Explorers Academy, which has already provided specialized training to over 170 students from across the member states.

The delegates also discussed expanding their global presence by organizing "Turkic World Space Days" at major international aerospace forums. The summit concluded with a unanimous reaffirmation to foster innovation-driven development and strengthen the institutional bonds that will define the future of the Turkic world's presence in the global space sector.
