AKIPRESS.COM - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has organized the return of 41 citizens from Iran through Turkmenistan. The operation was carried out with the direct support of Turkmen authorities, Kun.uz reported.

The diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan in Ashgabat and Tehran worked in close coordination with Turkmen government agencies to expedite visa processing and resolve logistical challenges. This collaboration allowed for the swift movement of citizens across international borders during the repatriation process.

With the assistance of Turkmen officials, the group of Uzbek nationals was received at the Sarakhs – Serakhs and Gaudan – Bajgiran border crossing points. Diplomats from the Uzbek embassies accompanied the citizens to ensure their safe and orderly transit through the border zones.

This latest repatriation follows a much larger operation earlier this year. In March, amidst escalating tensions in the Middle East, more than 9,000 Uzbek nationals were evacuated from the region. At that time, evacuation efforts focused on countries where airspace remained open to civil aviation, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Iran, Bahrain, and Oman.
