
AKIPRESS.COM - Ambassador of Mongolia to Germany Oyunbaatar Jagdag presented his credentials to President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier on May 27, Montsame reported.
During the ceremony, President Steinmeier recalled his 2024 state visit to Mongolia and reaffirmed Germany's strong commitment to cooperation with Mongolia.
Ambassador Oyunbaatar stated that during his term he would work to deepen the strategic partnership and expand cooperation in politics, defense, culture, and education. He emphasized that special attention would also be given to strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries.
The two sides also exchanged views on the upcoming exhibition "Chinggis Khaan and the World of the Mongols", which is scheduled to open in Berlin this October.
The Ambassador announced Mongolia's decision to open a Consulate General in Frankfurt am Main and noted that it would help expand people-to-people ties, trade, and investment cooperation between the two countries.
He also expressed hope that the German government would participate at a high level and contribute actively to the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (COP17), which will be held in Ulaanbaatar this August.
President Steinmeier wished the Ambassador success in his work, and pledged support for further strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation, according to the Embassy of Mongolia in Germany.
