AKIPRESS.COM - The 2nd Conference of the High Courts of the Organization of Turkic States was held on 19 June 2026 in Turkistan, Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Meeting was chaired by Aslambek Mergaliyev, Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan, attended by Inam Karimov, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mederbek Satyev, Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic, Ömer Kerkez, President of the Court of Cassation of the Republic of Türkiye, Zeki Yiğit, President of the Council of State of the Republic of Türkiye, Alisher Usmanov, First Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the OTS.

During the Conference, Aslambek Mergaliyev delivered the message of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, to the Conference of the High Courts of the OTS.

At the Conference, Secretary General of the OTS delivered a speech reflecting on the cooperation in the field of judiciary and law enforcement within the Organization, and the establishment of the current format, as well as its Statute. He also stressed that cooperation among the High Courts is important for strengthening cooperation among the OTS countries, including in the area of judiciary.

Chief Justice/Presidents of the High Courts of the OTS member states shared information on the activities of their institutions within the judicial systems of their countries, as well as possible cooperation within the current mechanism, and among others emphasized the importance of the implementation of the digitalization to the justice system, as well as investors’ rights.

At the end of the event, Chief Justice/Presidents signed a Joint Statement, and it was decided to hold the next Conference of the High Courts of the OTS in 2027 in the Kyrgyz Republic.
