AKIPRESS.COM - President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Yermek Kosherbayev on July 1, the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reported.

The Kazakh Foreign Minister noted the great importance Kazakhstan attaches to strengthening its good-neighborly relations with Turkmenistan.

Noting the importance of the upcoming consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, the head of state expressed confidence that their results would further strengthen the friendly ties between the two countries.

As emphasized, both countries develop bilateral cooperation and interact within international organizations such as the United Nations, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the Commonwealth of Independent States, and the Economic Cooperation Organization.

The successful coordination of efforts within the framework of consultative meetings of the heads of state of Central Asia and the "Central Asia+" regional partnership format was emphasized.

The importance of the activities of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Kazakh Commission on Economic, Scientific, Technical, and Cultural Cooperation was noted. It was agreed that the work of the Commission, the most recent meeting of which was held in Astana, contributes to unlocking the potential of bilateral cooperation, as well as further increasing mutual trade, investment, and joint projects.

The cultural and humanitarian sphere is also an important vector of interstate cooperation. Cooperation in education, healthcare, science, culture, and sports holds a special place.

Expressing confidence in the further strengthening of Turkmen-Kazakh relations in the interests of the peoples of both countries, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Yermek Kosherbayev exchanged best wishes.
