AKIPRESS.COM - September 1 will be declared a paid day off for employees of state and municipal institutions in Bishkek, while the official opening ceremony of Bishkek Arena with the participation of citizens from across the country will take place in late September, presidential press secretary Askat Alagozov said.

According to him, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a decision granting a day off to public sector employees in the capital, with their full average daily wages preserved.

"Similar recommendations have also been issued to private companies and enterprises operating in Bishkek," Alagozov said.

He noted that the decision was made as part of the implementation of President Sadyr Japarov's decree on introducing a temporary legal mechanism for establishing additional days off in certain areas of Kyrgyzstan.

Alagozov added that President Japarov instructed the organizing committee for the celebration of Kyrgyzstan's 35th Independence Anniversary, headed by Cabinet's Chairman Adylbek Kasymaliev, to arrange concerts and entertainment events across all regions on August 31 and consider providing citizens with benefits for visiting recreational areas on that day.

Regarding Bishkek Arena, Alagozov said that the stadium's opening on August 31 will only include the opening ceremony of the World Nomad Games, a parade of participating teams attended by heads of state, and a short concert program.

"The official opening of our pride — Bishkek Arena — will take place by the end of September as a major celebration involving all citizens of Kyrgyzstan, accompanied by a large-scale concert featuring popular performers," he said.

Alagozov emphasized that large infrastructure projects are built with the contribution of the entire nation, which is why the stadium's opening will be held as a separate major celebration with broad public participation.
