AKIPRESS.COM -  Kyrgyzstan’s GDP per capita has increased from around $1,200 in 2020–2021 to $3,075, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev said in an interview with the Kabar news agency.

Kasymaliev noted that despite the growth, Kyrgyzstan’s current GDP per capita remains lower than in developed countries, where the indicator can reach $60,000.

He said the National Development Program until 2030 sets a target of increasing Kyrgyzstan’s GDP to more than $30 billion and raising GDP per capita to $5,000. In 2025, the country’s economy reached $22.6 billion, according to Kasymaliev.

Explaining how GDP is formed, the Cabinet chief used the example of a milk processing plant. The enterprise buys milk from farmers, processes it into finished products, and sells them domestically or exports them.

According to Kasymaliev, the total value of goods and services produced and sold by businesses forms the country’s GDP. The more production enterprises operate in Kyrgyzstan, the larger the overall volume of the economy becomes.
