Кyrgyz dancer performs kara jorgo in 1924
Believe it or not, but this footage was reportedly filmed by a German videographer in 1924 during a fair at Karkyra Jailoo (summer pasture). The dance is known as kara jorgo.
First echoes of the dance were recorded in the 12th century. Literally "kara jorgo" means "black ambler" since the dancer imitates movements of a person sitting in the saddle.
The dance embodies various shades and receptions, it joins militancy and buffoonery, softness and mobility, speed and simple grace.
