100 Years of Kyrgyz Men's Image
Limon.kg has prepared a video of 100 years of changing image of the Kyrgyz man.
To create the video, Limon.kg overviewed hundreds of historical pictures, studied the Soviet movies, looked through dozens of family photo archives. The story begins with the nomadic culture – a civilization that unites hundreds of nomadic peoples.
The Kyrgyz man tried on 11 images to express the main mood of each decade. For example, he noted the national dance of kara-jorgo in the 1920s, or performed the war dance of victory in the 1940s.
Since the Kyrgyz Republic used to be the part of the Soviet Union, the image of the Kyrgyz man resembles many other men living in the post-Soviet countries.
