More than 800 families evacuated due to floods in Osh
Some 885 families in Nooken district were evacuated as water in the Kara-Unkur River keeps rising, reports Turmush.
The rising water in the river washed away the dam built in 1970-1980s years.
At a moment, 300 meters of riverside have been flooded. Water started flooding agricultural lands in Sakaldy village and now houses are under the flood threat.
Residents of Chelek, Kyrgyzstan, Chon-Bagysh, Sai-Boiu and Kormotseh villages have been relocated to their relatives' houses.
Special engineering vehicles were allocated for bank protection works.
